OUR AI PHILOSOPHY:

Human-Led Strategy | Transparent Usage  | Confidentiality First  | Quality Control

We remain committed to incorporating AI-powered tools where appropriate to help manage efficiencies and stay competitive.

For 2026, this will include five (5) main areas of strategic focus, including the adoption and implementation of AI-powered tools for:

  1. Patent and trademark searching, allowing us to search broader and more extensively using natural-language processing tools for converting patent claims and/or proposed trademark into queries that are executable worldwide.

  2. Contract drafting and review, allowing us to consider a broader range of IP-specific agreements and issues than we previously could by reducing the amount of time required to conduct legal research.

  3. Meeting recording and transcriptions, allowing us to make doubly certain that your verbal instructions are captured and documented effectively.

  4. Docketing and billing, allowing us to more efficiently track and manage time-sensitive tasks, effectively making more time for high-value work.

  5. Client intake and meeting scheduling via 1-844-IPLAWYR (475-2997), which is a newly launched service that has proven helpful for fielding initial calls, answering basic questions, and guiding our clients through select forms.

In complement, our team is carefully tracking the development of AI-powered tools for drafting patent specifications and/or claims. We currently do not utilize these tools for client work because nobody has solved known issues around conception and inventorship that, if left unsolved, may threaten the validity of your patent rights. Should that change, then we will embrace those tools along with any others that may be utilized to your advantage.

Please advise if you would like to discuss AI in greater detail. We understand that some of our clients have been experimenting with various forms of AI-powered R&D and caution against that for now. Nonetheless, if this is an interest and you are willing to accept the risks, then we can be available to help you manage them as effectively as possible.
